Vickie @ Bossier Central

Hello!  My name is Vickie Hardin, Outreach Services Specialist for Bossier Parish Library.  Since January, 1999, it has been my pleasure to work at the best library in the state.  As Outreach Specialist my goal is to create public awareness to the library system and promote literacy.  My job is to bring together Bossier Parish residents and the library by planning and implementing special programs, acting as liaison between the library and other organizations, and create awareness to the library’s many outstanding services.

Throughout the year, I plan programs and organize events for our library patrons.  A new program, “Friends of the Library,” is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to: raising funds for the library; providing reading packets for the “Books for Babies” program; holding book sales; campaigning for library issues; and to assist with library events. Another special program during Christmas is called “Books for Children.”  Bossier Parish Library, partners with Providence House to provide book gifts to the children living there.  Patrons donate new books to these children through the library.

The “Bossier Parish Library Connection” is the library newsletter published bimonthly.  It contains information about: technology; upcoming events; what is going on at the library branches; special celebrations; employee highlights; and more!

Welcome to Bossier Parish Library where there is always something special going on!

Thank you,
Vickie Hardin (Send an email to Vickie!)
